7th December, 2009 British Gas has today launched WebSaver 5 as a direct but cheaper replacement to WebSaver 4 which is being withdrawn from the market immediately.
WebSaver 5 is an online energy account where prices are guaranteed to be 6% lower than the British Gas standard tariff until 28th February 2011, so regardless of whether prices go up or down the tariff will always be 6% lower than the standard prices.
Unlike WebSaver4 which has been available in a number of payment methods WebSaver5 is only available to monthly direct customers.
WebSaver5 gains the number one position is 6 of the UK distribution areas, East Midlands Electricity, Manweb, Scottish Hydro-Electric, Scottish Power, SWALEC and SWEB.
This means that the number one position is held by British Gas, OVO Energy and first:utility.
