Npower launches new alert service: Go Save >> Why?

4th December, 2009

Npower launches new alert service to reduce estimated bills with Go Save

Npower has launched a new meter read reminder service for customers who manage their gas and electricity accounts online through the My Npower service.

All customers who sign up for paperless billing will automatically receive an email before each gas and electricity bill is due,  reminding them to log in to My Npower and enter their meter reading – meaning their bill will be based on the actual amount of energy they have used*.

Estimated bills could be a thing of the past!

Since My Npower was launched in 2007, almost half a million customers have chosen to go paperless. With postal strikes recently affecting the nation, and possibly to return, there couldn't be a better time to go online – and now we've introduced a new online product, Go Save.

Go Save is available to all existing and new monthly Direct Debit customers who manage their gas and electricity account online and allows you to:

-          Save Time – manage your account online when it suits you, and receive meter read reminders to ensure your bills are right first time, every time

-          Save Paper – View your bills online via My Npower, with email reminders telling you when they are ready

-          Save Money – By managing your account online you save us money - and we're passing it straight on to you – get an extra dual fuel £10 annual discount on top of your annual Direct Debit discount of £100**

The price you'll pay is the same as our variable Standard electricity and gas tariff.

Anna Pember, Npower online product manager said: "We've been developing our online offering ever since we launched My Npower."

"We know customers don't like getting estimated bills, so we've been looking at ways to eliminate them. The meter read reminder service is a great example of how technology can deliver practical solutions to help customers. We'll continue developing our online services, to make it even easier for customers to manage their accounts online in the future. Plus with Go Save there's an extra incentive for going online, as we pass our savings straight on to customers."
